The 10 Best Wedding Movies

Best Wedding Movies

Wedding planning is stressful, super time consuming and exhaustively brain-draining... every now and then you need to drop you planner and veg-out with a good flick!  Here are a few fall-over-funny wedding movies to relax your mind and let your soul breath a little.  Please let me know your favs in the comments below, I'm always up for a good flick!

FATHER OF THE BRIDE

Hands down the best wedding themed movie I've seen - as a father of two girls this movie hits home every time I watch it.  With his oldest daughter's wedding approaching, George finds himself just a smidge reluctant to let go.  I know I'll be a mess when the day arrives and I walk my girls down the aisle, but moreso - it'll be that initial gasp of realization that my little girls are getting married that really knocks me back.

WEDDING CRASHERS

There are a handful of movies that have brought me to tears laughing over the years - Wedding Crashers is on that list.  Crazy funny.  This pair of womanizers sneak into weddings taking advantage of the romance in the air before finding themselves mixed up in a whole mess of shit.

27 DRESSES

A fun one and actually a first date movie when I first met my wife!  After serving as a bridesmaid 27 times, she wrestles with the idea of standing by her sister's side as her sibling marries the man she's secretly in love with.

THE WEDDING SINGER

Another classic from back in Adam Sandler's funny days.  He plays, a singer and Julia, a waitress are both engaged to be married but to totally the wrong people. Fate, err Hollywood steps in to help them discover each other.

RUNAWAY BRIDE

Julia and Richard team up again, maybe leveraging Pretty Woman, maybe not but I think it stands on its own. Runaway Bride is just a solid romantic comedy.

BRIDESMAIDS

For me, a female version of The Hangover... or maybe Hangover was the male version of Bridesmaids.  The story? Competition between a maid of honor and a bridesmaid, over who is the bride's best friend.  And of course, hilarity ensues.

BRIDE WARS

Bitches be crazy could have been the other name for this one ayayaa! These two best friends go crazy and become rivals when they end up scheduling their weddings on the same day.

THE HANGOVER

For my grooms out there - but let's face it - you've all already seen The Hangover. Not directly wedding related for this list however the bachelor party is a right of passage so it made the cut.

MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING

When a woman's long-time friend says he's engaged, she realizes she loves him herself... and sets out to get him - with only days before the wedding.  Of course she does!

THE WEDDING PLANNER

Not my favourite but my wife insists it belongs on the list!  San Francisco's most successful supplier of romance and glamou knows all the tricks. She knows all the rules. But... then she breaks the most important rule of all and falls in love with the groom.
