A beautiful summer wedding at Camp Muskoka with Emily and Philip
FROM MY ARCHIVES: This was one of my very first weddings - ever! I love looking back at these early days while I was feeling my way. And Camp Muskoka was a great learning ground for this style of wedding.
When I first met Emily and Philip they were so pumped for their rustic Camp Muskoka Wedding! Once they started laying out their plans for me I think I became just about as excited as they were... what an awesome place for a wedding! Friends and family were invited to spend the weekend at the summer camp (yes, before the kids arrived) celebrating with the soon-to-be-weds with things like canoe races and camp fires.

Of course, there was the matter of a wedding on the itinerary as well :)In the beginning, I was puzzled at Emily and Philip's main request of me... please focus your camera more on our guests and less on us. It seemed simple enough however as a wedding photographer I continually have all these ideas swirling around in my head for Bride, Groom and Bridal Party photos. That all changed when I arrived at the Camp and got to see them engage with their family and friends - they were like one huge extended family and I understood why they wanted their day captured in such a way. But now this here is MY blog, so Em and Phil I'm get to show you two off a little :)

This wedding was so awesomely-original from Lena and her team at Camp Muskoka to DJ Craig Hill and all the personal table dressings the couple had saved up to use on this one big day (see below). I felt like I had known these two all along after hearing the funny and heart-warming stories during dinner speeches... how they are heroes to their nieces and nephews all the while watching their parents beam with pride as every story unfolded.
Thank you for letting me be part of your day! I look forward to seeing Phil's debut in the Australian professional hockey league.
