2013 Year in Review

Year in Review for 2013, looking back on a huge year

My second season as a wedding photographer officially comes to an end with this 2013 Year in Review!  While this summer coming will mark my third year behind the lens professionally, I only began to specialize  in weddings the summer of 2012 after my first wedding "Katrina and Darryl".  That first year brought just a few events, but in 2013 I found my passion growing... my eye evolving and Brides calling!

The new year my mind was racing, could I land a destination wedding?  Could I?  Dare I... on a plane, to a beach.... whoa wouldn't that be a peach!  My mind set, I went to work and found a Bride willing to give me the chance.  I booked my first destination wedding!  Early in the year I was fortunate enough to shoot Ashlea and Nathan's wedding at the Majestic Colonial resort in Punta Cana.  Not only that but later in the year I was back at the Majestic again to shoot Leah and Keith's wedding, this time my daughter came along as my second shooter.  What a great chance to spend some Father/Daughter vacay time on the side!

Here in Ontario, 2013 held equally original opportunities to shoot in such venues as a summer camp in Muskoka, in a barn in Orillia, on a windy rocky shoreline in Collingwood, a beautifully vintage Inn in Toronto as well as so many other cool spots!  While the venues were cool, it was the amazing people I met along the way that inspired me.  I want to thank each and every Bride and Groom for entrusting the memories of one of the biggest days in their lives to me - it's truly an honour!

Business-wise things have progressed with a new, more suitable logo and business cards.  I also managed to make the move recently from discs to USBs for my digital files as well as finally settling on appropriate packaging that better suits my style!  I'm pretty excited about it, one thing I've wanted to upgrade was my wedding digital files packaging/presentation!  It's been an exciting year, thank you 2013!
