Pre-wedding Fall engagement photos in Collingwood, Ontario

It's always fun hanging out with people that love to laugh and goof around with one another!  I walked along the top of Blue Mountain with Kaitlyn and Kyle before heading down to Collingwood's windy waterfront and the entire time they laughed and teased one another.  But these two really showed their chops by standing out on a super-windy pier with waves crashing all around them while I snapped away... true soldiers!

I look forward to their I Dos at one of my favourite Collingwood wedding venues, the mountain top at Blue Mountain.

Here's their story in their own words...

HOW DID THEY MEET:

Kyle:  Kaitlyn’s friend was having a party and invited Kaitlyn to try and set her up with her cousin. Instead of the cousin, Kaitlyn fell for Kyle. We ended up leaving the party and going out to a bar together. Our first date was two days later.

WHAT DO THEY REMEMBER ABOUT THEIR FIRST DATE:

Kyle: We went out for coffee, I did 90% of the talking. We both wore Jean jackets. I paid. I offered to walk her back to her door, but she said no.

Kaitlyn: We went out for coffee, and he definitely did all the talking! I remember being impressed by his confidence and how relaxed he seemed! I totally made him pay and then didn’t let him walk me home…

WHEN THEY KNEW:

Kyle: A random date night when we stayed home. We were dancing and drinking together.

Kaitlyn: When he sprinted half way across the city at 8 o’clock at night to buy an ice cream cake form Dairy Queen before it closed. It was my birthday and he had just found out that ice cream cake was my favourite. He refused to let my birthday end without me having that cake.

THE PROPOSAL, HOW DID IT GO DOWN:

It was a Saturday in August and we were at High Park in Toronto. It was about 35 degrees and Kyle dragged Kaitlyn through the entire park for hours. After lunch we went and walked through the fountains: Kaitlyn got to the other end, turned around and Kyle was down on one knee with a huge smile. She rambled on for a few seconds before he could even ask the question! Before asking her to marry him, he had to tell her to “Please stop talking”.After we got home we got dressed up and planned to go for dinner together. To Kaitlyn’s surprise there was 40 of our friends waiting for us at a local bar. We partied for the rest of the night!

ONE THING THEY LOVE ABOUT ONE ANOTHER:

Kyle: Kaitlyn understands me more than anyone else. She knows what I’m thinking and how to make me happy.

Kaitlyn: He is always inspiring me. He makes me want to be a better person and I am always in awe of his ambition, dedication and how no matter what he supports me.

WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ON THEIR WEDDING DAY:

Kyle: Getting ready with all of the guys. And the first look.

Kaitlyn: Being able to hang out with all our friends and family! And seeing his face at our First Look shoot!
