Groom’s Wedding Dance with Mother in Wheelchair

I’ve seen some amazing wedding videos over the years, however nothing quite like this one.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as the groom Luke danced with his mother on his wedding day.  She suffered from ALS and had no choice but to use her wheelchair.  After escorting her onto the dance floor, Luke kneels down next to her and sways with her to Mariah Carey’s “Hero” as if they were truly dancing.  She’s overcome with emotion and Luke is right there for to her – with comforting hugs, kisses and a loving smile.

They say you can tell a lot about a man by the way he treats his Mother, I think his new wife Kristeena hit the husband lottery if that’s the case.

It will forever be a cherished moment for her and for Luke as she eventually passed away.  I shoot a lot of weddings each year and watching the interactions between parents and their children, the respect the couples show their grandparents etc. always give me pause – without fail – at every wedding.

Feel free to share this story around, I think it’s just the thing every couple needs to see as they plan their wedding.  Because it’s not about the brand of champagne at the toast, or how under or over cooked the meal is… it’s about sharing it all with those who matter.
