The Atomic Drive-In Theatre in Serpent River, Ontario
Memory lane, remembering the Atomic Drive-In Theatre in Serpent River, Ontario
I'm feeling nostalgic this morning so I'm Michael J. Fox'n it back in time to one of my favourite childhood memories... the Atomic Drive-In Theatre in Serpent River, Ontario. I grew up in this small town in Northern Ontario and spent many, many summers with my brother driving my Grandmother nuts while she ran this local movie hot-spot. More so, she also lived in a house right on the grounds so I was the luckiest kid in town... every movie, right out the front door!
I didn't expect to find anything when I started Googling it, however I came across a few photos someone (Chris Wood) had submitted to a drive-in site. Instantly all those memories came flooding back, there is was!
August of 2001: My daughter and I stopped by where I had spent many of my childhood years. It had long since been closed and had sadly deteriorated to the point where is was barely noticeable. Mother Nature was reclaiming her space.
