My First Destination Wedding

ARCHIVE: My very first destination wedding, ahh the memories. I look back with pride, I had only just started shooting weddings but my goal was to do destination weddings. A year later I was in the Dominican shooting on the beach. Now, I return each year for carious weddings in the Caribbean, and it all started here.

With characters like Poo, Blister Boy and The Hulk you just can't help but have a blast with this wedding party!  I just returned from shooting a destination wedding in Punta Cana with beautiful bride Ashlea, pose-master Nathan and their close family and friends.  What an experience!  This was such a tight group, it felt like the guests were actually extensions of the Bridal Party themselves.  What better place to tie the knot than on a beautiful beach in the Caribbean.

I think the highlight of the day for me as an outsider looking in, was the speeches at their Parrot Bar reception. Maid of Honour Kate shared a fun and emotional trip down memory lane with her best buddy and despite knowing she wouldn't be able to get through it, Ashlea's mother stood and did her very best at expressing her joy in her daughter's big day.  

As far as guys go, we tend not to get "speechy" at these types of events however a few of Nathans buddies stood and paid tribute to their close friend which was great to see!  This all happened before Grandma and Grandpa stole the show on the dance floor (see below).I really want to thank Ashlea and Nathan for having me share in their day and for making me feel like I was another guest who happened to have a fancy camera... thank you for trusting your wedding day to me.
