Belcroft Estates hosts a winter engagement photo session with Emily and Scott

Back at one of my favourite wedding venues, Belcroft Estates for Emily and Scott's chilly winter engagement session. While I've shot here in past - I've never had the opportunity to experience it draped in snow.  I have Emily to thank for that - I wasn't sold on an engagement shoot at the same venue as their wedding (later this fall).  Great idea Emily!

EDIT FROM THE FUTURE:  Check out Emily and Scott's Belcroft Estates wedding.

Let's hear their story in their own words below...Winter engagement photos at Belcroft Estates Tree Farm

HOW DID THEY MEET: We met on eHarmony.

WHAT DO THEY REMEMBER ABOUT THEIR FIRST DATE:

Emily: When I saw Scott for the first time getting out of his car thinking "well he's super good looking". We spent 4 or 5 hours together, first at Starbucks and then over dinner. At the end of the night when he asked me if he could see me again my response was "is tomorrow too soon?".

Scott: I asked Emily if she was a hugger or a handshaker, to which she responded, "Definitely a hugger!" We had coffee and then went for dinner. After dinner we held hands on the way to the car. We made plans for a second date the next night.

WHEN THEY KNEW:

Emily: Very early in our relationship I had told Scott that I was having nightmares. He got me a dream catcher to place above my bed so I wouldn't have them anymore. At that point I thought "this is the kind of man you don't let go of."

Scott: We had been dating less than a month at the time of Emily's 25th birthday on May 5th; for her present, I asked if it was ok to get us tickets to a Zac Brown Band concert in August (!). She said yes, and I knew she'd be sticking around for a while.

Marriage Proposal on hike

THE PROPOSAL, HOW DID IT GO DOWN:

We went on a trip to Lake Placid, New York, in September 2016. At the top of Gothics Mountain, Scott went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Thanks to Scott's brother and his girlfriend for capturing the moment for us on camera.

ONE THING THEY LOVE ABOUT ONE ANOTHER:

Emily: No matter how much time I get with him I never feel like it's enough.

Scott: Her ability to make me laugh.

WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ON THEIR WEDDING DAY:

Emily: Watching Scott bust his moves on the dance floor.

Scott: Finally seeing the top secret wedding dress.
