A summer engagement session in Barrie, Ontario

I've known Katie for a few years now and was honoured when she reached out about shooting her upcoming wedding.  It's always special when you're able to photograph friends in their happiest moments.I'm super excited to be shooting their Fall wedding at Black Creek Pioneer Village this September.  Having brought my eldest daughter to the Pioneer Village when she was little, I have some wonderful memories and my photog-juices are pumping with the thought of shooting a wedding at such a historic venue.

HOW DID THEY MEET:

When I was working for an automotive dealership I attended training and Dan was the Trainer. We exchanged a smile.

WHAT DO THEY REMEMBER ABOUT THEIR FIRST DATE:

Katie:  We talked on the phone a lot before our date so I remember being very comfortable hanging out with him. We had a dinner date at a mutual friends house. It was like we were dating for months!

Dan: Short, Sweet, and Funny!

WHEN THEY KNEW:

Katie:  I knew when we couldn't spend one day or night apart. We had the same vision for the future and I didn't want to share it with anyone else.

Dan: Love at first sight.

THE PROPOSAL, HOW DID IT GO DOWN:

We were lying in bed with my dog and my baby bump, he turned over and proposed. I responded by reaching over to the nightstand and pulled out a ring I bought him and said "only if you will marry me too?"

ONE THING THEY LOVE ABOUT ONE ANOTHER:

Katie:  How he challenges me intellectually.

Dan:  I love her sense of humour.

WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ON THEIR WEDDING DAY:

Katie:  Having all our family and friends come together to celebrate us.
