Kristy and Michael's Summer wedding in Gilford, Ontario
Kristy and Michael's Belcroft Estates barn wedding felt like opening Mr. Dressup's tickle trunk of treasures from a photographer's point of view. At every turn you're greeted with distressed wood grain, burlap and vintage props that would make the Canadian Pickers lads drool. The soon-to-be-weds invited their family and friends to step back in time with them - Belcroft style.
You meet all types shooting weddings, Kristy and Michael pushed the awesome-meter over the edge with their kindness and down to earth nature. Add to that, we were shooting at a venue I'd been counting down the days to photograph, Belcroft Estates Tree Farm in Gilford, Ontario - a killer rustic barn wedding venue! And to top it all off, my daughter was shooting with me for the day again!
The day wasn't without its trials however, I mean shooting at a venue jammed to the rafters with cool props and vintagy-rusticy barn stuff isn't easy when there's only 24hrs in a day. Having such ridiculously amazing food via Cabral Catering wasn't slowing the clock either - course after course had us balancing plates over the edge of the table begging for a game of flip-plate. Wasn't easy putting together the reception slideshow with my left hand and shoveling each course with my right but it did provide some serious entertainment for my daughter.
I have to send a big thank you to Christina and Beth at the Belcroft for letting us run loose all over the grounds. It's great walking into a venue and having complete support from staff.
Thanks so much for letting us be part of your day you two, it was our sincerest pleasure to tell your story!
